You may want to continue studying once you have left school but worried about the costs. Brighton and Hove really want care leavers to have the same opportunities as other young people and this means supporting them in their education.

If you want to go on to further and higher education the Local Authority will help out and give you:

• Weekly living allowance

• Pay your rent

• Money for books, equipment, exam fees (lots of the extras you will need – no, not beer money!)

• Travel costs

• A laptop

• And as a care leaver you will be given a grant and money from the university to cover your tuition fees.

That’s a pretty good deal – maybe you should think about taking them up on it…
