Independent Visitors

All children in care have the right to an Independent Visitor.

Independent Visitors are volunteers who want to befriend and support children in care.  They are specially selected and trained so that they are safe and appropriate for you.  They make a commitment for two years minimum and will visit you about once every two weeks and take you on outings and do activities with you. You could go to the cinema, out for dinner, bowling or just kick a football round the park.

Some young people we know have had their Independent Visitor for a long time and these relationships are very important to them.

If you are interested then contact Moira or Georgina on 01273 290514 or 07557 197581 or email moira.stone@brighton-hove.gcsx.gov.uk or georgina.collins@brighton-hove.gcsx.gov.uk or ask your social worker or carer.
